Notes:
Willie was enrolled in the Dromara Public
Elementary School on the 1st of February, 1921. The records show he was
born February 14, 1906, and that he previously attended the Roden Street School
in Belfast, Northern Ireland. They also indicate that he was of
Presbyterian denomination from Dromara and that his father was a labourer.
He attended there until May 20, 1922 and left with the reason of "gone to
an office".
Willie didn't immigrate to the
U.S. at the same time as either his father or, later, with his mother and the
rest of his brothers and sister, but, instead, came over alone in 1925.
Per the Passenger Manifest and Passenger Record of the S.S. Baltic, Ellis Island
Foundation, New York, he left Liverpool, England on November 7, 1925 and arrived
at Ellis Island, New York on November 16, 1925.
