After Frank and Lucinda divorced, Frank married Clara Walker and removed to South Dakota and Lucinda married John Elliot but they were also divorced before 1900.

At some time, Lucinda and the girls stopped using the surname of Shoop. Lucinda's marriage to John Elliott showed her name as Shoop but both of the girls' marriage documentation shows their surname as Howell instead of Shoop with a father's name of Frank Howell.  Additionally, Orpha's name in the 1910 census with her mother is Howe. Another twist is that Bessie's death record in Chicago shows her maiden name as Shoop.
