SCHUYLERVILLE -- Blanche I. Carden, 94, a resident of the town of Saratoga, died Friday, July 15, 2005, at the Saratoga Hospital Nursing Home in Saratoga Springs. Born Feb. 16, 1911, in the town of Fort Edward, she was the daughter of Henry and Carrie Spateholts Galusha.
Blanche had operated a dairy farm in the town of Saratoga for many years. She was a member of the Quaker Springs Sunshiners Senior Citizens and the Fort Miller Reformed Church and a longtime leader of the Bible study classes at the church.
Blanche had a wide
circle of friends through her church membership, activities in the community and
personal sales of eggs and other products from her farm.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by two sisters, Mildred Durham
and Bessie Galusha.
Survivors include a niece, Charlene Durham of Saratoga Springs, and a nephew,
Eugene Galusha of Catskill. Several cousins also survive.
A memorial service will be celebrated during the regular 9:30 a.m. service July
31, 2005, at the Fort Miller Reformed Church with the Rev. Charles Bailey
officiating.
There will be no calling hours.
Interment will take place at the Riverside Cemetery, Fort Miller.
Arrangements are under the direction of Flynn Bros. Inc. Funeral Home, 13 Gates
Ave., Schuylerville.
Donations may be made in memory of Blanche to the Fort Miller Reformed Church
Memorial Fund.
