Notes:
MYRON and both his wives are buried in a family lot in Manchester, VT,
where stands a very fine monument bearing the inscriptions of himself, both of
his wives and deceased children.
Hibbard in his History of Rupert, Vermont, page 209, says:
"MYRON CLARK son of HENRY and DEZIER DOWNER CLARK, Hoosic 1790 settled in Rupert
prior to 1820; Town Representative 1823. Removed to Manchester and engaged many
years in the tannery business; A prime mover in the building of the Western
Vermont R.R. Judge MYRON CLARK was one of Vermont's foremost Citizens and held
several important offices. He was assistant Judge of the County Court of
Bennington, VT, for thee years from 1826, a member of the Governor's Council for
three years from 1830 and Judge of the Probate Court of his County four years
from 1834. Married Laura Galusha."
