Michael J. Hayden, 56, of Muscatine, Iowa, died
Thursday, Dec. 27, 2007, at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics, Iowa
City.
Funeral services will be 3 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 30, at Ralph J.
Wittich-Riley-Freers Funeral Home, Muscatine. Visitation will be 1 to 3 p.m.
Sunday at the funeral home. The Rev. Sharon Phillips of the Jesus Mission will
officiate. Casket bearers will be Jim Galusha, Mike Stark, Tom Kelly, Donald
Maylone, Bruce Dagel and Pam Casey. Burial will be in Aledo Cemetery. Memorials
may be made to the family in care of Betty Hayden. Online condolences for the

Michael was born July 15, 1951, in Muscatine, the son of John and Betty Galusha
Hayden. At the age of 25, he was injured in an auto accident.
He worked for McGlothen Body Shop in Moline and later at Monsanto.
He was a member of the NRA, Farm Bureau and the Muscatine Amateur Radio Club,
where he was a past president. He enjoyed hunting and fishing. He was a ham
radio operator using the call letters KBOTFT. He was also a CB radio operator.
He helped people get their ham radio licenses.
Survivors include his mother, Betty Hayden, Illinois City; three brothers, Tom
Hayden, Sherrard, Pat Hayden, Moline, and John Hayden, Illinois City; and one
sister, Kathy Hayden, Illinois City. He was preceded in death by his father and
one brother, Gerald Hayden.
