Notes:
Rooney was the longest tenured employee of the L&N Railroad. He
hired on as a water boy at the age of 15, when the Ridgetop tunnel was
being built. He held many positions all the way to conductor of the Dixie
Flyer and didn't retire until he was 70 years old.
