Capt Thomas M. Senter served as a first mate under his brother Cap. George E.
Senter on a whaling ship. He enlisted in the U. S. Navy June 1862, serving as an
ord. seaman for two years. He reenlisted on Feb 27 1865 for two more years
serving on the U.S.S. Agamentetres during the Civil War. He was discharged at
Bangor, Maine.
