Park Hudson Wood was born February 18, 1884 to Frank A. and Amanda (Mix) Wood, at Neosha Falls, Woodson County, Kansas, Passed away enroute to the Hospital in Cheyenne Wells, Colorado, January 25, 1967, at the age of 82 years, 11 months and 7 days.

He attended school at Council Grove, Kansas, a protestant, and was engaged in the business of installing Electric Light Plants in Illinois and Missouri.

Mr. Wood was united in marriage to Kate Beardsley June 26, 1912, in Harvard Illinois. To this union three sons and two daughters were born. They moved to Colorado in 1918 and lived on his folks homestead northeast of Kit Carson for one year before moving to Kit Carson in 1919 where they have made their home. Mr. Wood was employed as a Mechanic for the late Albert LaSelle, whom operated the Buick Garage, until he went into the Automotive business for himself and was engaged in the Automotive, Implement, and Salvage Business until his health started failing in 1965. In 1920's he installed and operated the first Electric Light Plant in the town of Kit Carson.

Besides his faithful and beloved wife Kate Beardsley Wood. he leaves his three sons, Park B. Wood Jr., of Kit Carson, Colo.; Frank E. Wood and Charles L. Wood of Denver, Colo.; two daughters, Mrs. W. L. (Addie A.) Burtnett, Oregon, Mo.; Mrs. E. S. (Louise A.) Bergman Kit Carson, Colo.; three daughters-in-law, two son-in-laws; twenty-two grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; two brothers, Mr. Leevurne D. Wood and his wife Gladys, of Los Angeles, Calif.; Mr. Melvurne Dow Wood, of LosOsos, Calif.; Numerous other relatives and a host of friends. Due to illness his brothers were unable to attend the services.

He was preceded in death by two brothers, Eddie and Lafeyette; two sisters, Ida and Florence Delyte; his father Frank A. Wood on Dec. 22, 1929 and his Mother Amanda (Mix) Wood on Feb. 20, 1935.

Funeral Services were held Saturday, January 28, 1967 at 2:00 PM. at the Kit Carson School Gymnasium in Kit Carson, Colo., with the Rev. Richard Saloga officiating. "The Old Rugged Cross" and "Jesus Savior Pilot Me" were sung by Mr. Brent Ritter accompanied on the piano by Mrs. Trix Miller of Eads, Colo. Arrangements were under the direction of Brentlinger Mortuary and interment was in the Kit Carson Cemetery.
