Funeral services were held for Kirby Leon Wofford, 41, fisherman, Saturday, September 14, 2:00 p.m., at Walnut Grove Baptist Church with Rev. Charles Nelson officiating. Burial was in the Wofford Cemetery with Milligan Funeral Home in charge.
Pallbearers were Monroe Borens, Raymond Geurin, Harlan Sykes, Harley Russell, and Freeman Earhart. Mr. Monroe Link was in charge of the song service.
Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Mary Fay Wofford; two sons, Randy Leon and Jerry Lynn Wofford; three daughters, Brenda Lynn, Rita Carol, and Reva Ann Wofford, all of Indian Mound; three brothers, Roy Wofford, Clyde Wofford, Dover, and Claude Wofford of Columbus, Ga.; four sisters, Mrs. Laura Geurin, Dover, Mrs. Katie Smith, Mrs. Erma Trafford and Mrs. Ruby Russell, all of Evansville, Ind.

Dover Man Held in Fatal Shooting
Porter Parker, 60, Farmer, of Route 2, Dover, is charged with the fatal
shooting of Kirby Wofford of the Red Top community and wounding Eddie Earhart of
Route 3, Dover, who is being treated at the Henry County General Hospital.
The alleged shooting took place about 5:30 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 12 in a back
room of Parker's home about four miles west of Dover. The parties appeared
before Judge Ira C. Atkins on Friday, which a preliminary hearing was set for
Monday, Sept. 16 at 1 p.m. Parker was released on $2500 bond.
