Gerald "Jerry" Lee Wilkinson, 69, of Evansville, Indiana, passed away Tuesday, October 8, 2013 at Deaconess Hospital.
Jerry was born in Evansville, Indiana on July 21, 1944 to the late Gerald and Hilma (Hamilton) Wilkinson. He graduated from Castle High School in 1962, where he was a star basketball player. Gerald worked as a sales representative at Farm Boy Food Service for 38 years. He enjoyed playing basketball, was an avid golfer and was a dedicated member of Oak Hill Baptist Church. Jerry loved his family with all his heart and never met a stranger.
Gerald is survived by his wife of 42 years, Carolyn (Jennings) Wilkinson of Evansville; daughters, Debra (Larry) Goldsberry, Jennifer (Jeff) Harding, Kelly (Jeff) Dauby and Kimberly (Jeff) Welte; sister, Bettye (Forest) Marchal; brother, Gene (Diane) Wilkinson; grandchildren, Jerry (Megan) Goldsberry, Jamie (Jacob) Key, Lauren and Katelyn Harding, Collin (Ashlie) Welte, Caleb Welte, and Shelby and Noah Cullen; step-grandchildren, Brandi McCracken, Mallory, Emily, and Andrew Dauby; and great-grandchildren, Justice McCracken, Savannah Goldsberry, Mason Key, and Kynlie Welte. Gerald is preceded in death by his parents; and by his brother, Jim Wilkinson.
Funeral services will be held at 12:00 Noon on Friday, October 11, 2013 at Browning Funeral Home, 738 Diamond Ave., Evansville, IN 47711 with Pastor Alan Scott officiating. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Park. Friends may visit from 3:00 PM until 8:00 PM, Thursday, October 10, 2013 at Browning Funeral Home and from 11:00 AM until service time on Friday.
