Wilfahrt, 76, of 308 S. Minnesota St., New Ulm, died Tuesday, April 20, 1999 at
his home.
Mass of Christian burial will be 11 a.m. Friday at St. Mary's Catholic Church in
New Ulm with burial in the City Cemetery, Soldiers Rest Section. Full military
rites will be conducted at the cemetery by the New Ulm veterans organizations
Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. today and 7:30-10:30 a.m. Friday at Minnesota
Valley Funeral Home in New Ulm. There will be a parish prayer service at 7 p.m.
today at the funeral home.
He is survived by his wife, Barbara Wilfahrt of New Ulm; a daughter, Peggy
Kinate of Cannon Falls; sons and daughters-in-law, Bruce and Priscilla Wilfahrt
of St. Paul, Bradley Wilfahrt of Hopkins, and Brian and Vaughn Wilfahrt of
Houston, Texas; ten grandchildren;two brothers and sisters-in-law Leo and Ruth
Wilfahrt of New Ulm, and Melvin and LeRone Wilfahrt of Montevideo.
He was born Nov. 14, 1922, in New Ulm to Charles and Anna (Kral) Wilfahrt. He
graduated in 1940 from Holy Trinity High School. He married Barbara Barrett on
July 26, 1948 at Luverne. He served in the Air Force from November 1942 to
February 1946. He was employed by the Coast to Coast Store in Sleepy Eye from
1946 to 1951. He then became a partner with the Wilfahrt Brothers Store as a
tire salesman. He retired in 1986. He was a life time member of the American
Legion Post 132 in New Ulm, a past charter member of the Sleepy Eye Lions, St.
Joseph's Catholic Aid Council, and a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in New
Ulm.
