Name:    Leda F. (Culbertson) Whitlow

Mrs. Leda F. Whitlow, 75, Topeka, died Thursday, July 7, 1988 at a Topeka hospital.

Mrs. Whitlow worked 10 years in the Capper Junior High cafeteria.

She was born September 30, 1912 at Emporia, the daughter of Harry and Almira Galutia Culbertson. She spent most of her life in Topeka and had been in Peterson's Nursing Home in Osage City since 1980.

Mrs. Whitlow was a member of the Seventh Day Adventist Church in Topeka.  She was a past president and secretary of the Dorcas Society at the church and taught youth classes at the church many years.

She was married to Paul Whitlow March 5, 1930 at Lawrence.  He died Dec. 15, 1980.  She also was preceded in death by two infant daughters, Patricia Whitlow and Carolyn Whitlow.

Survivors include a daughter, Twila Shideler, Topeka; three sons, Paul Whitlow Jr., Overlook, James Whitlow, Glendora, Calif., and Clarence Robert Whitlow, Great Bend; a brother, Melvin Culbertson, Sedalia, Mo; 10 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren and a step-great-grandchild.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday in Newcomer-Diffenderfer Funeral Home.  Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery.  Mrs. Whitlow will lie in state today at the funeral home.  Memorial contributions may be made to Topeka Seventh Day Adventist Church, 2435 Wanamaker Road, 66614.
