Whipple, 95, of Kingsley, Pa, died Monday, October 18, 2004, at Endless
Mountains Health Systems, Montrose, Pa. Born March 31, 1909 in Corning, NY. She
was the daughter of the late Clarence and Alice Blanche (Crandall) Allen. Mrs.
Whipple married Wayne
Whipple on July 17, 1949. He survives her.
She was a member of the New River Methodist Church, Zephyrhillis, Fla. She loved
reading, doing crossword puzzles and loved baseball. She worked in the J.C.
Penny Co. stores in Binghamton, NY, and also worked for New York State Electric
and Gas during WWII.
Besides her husband, survivors include, daughter and son-in-law, Alice and James
Willcutt, Kingsley, Pa.; sons and daughters-in-law, Donald T. and Tina Allen,
Lady Lake, Fla., Clifton L. and Verna Allen, Broomall, Pa., Richard A. and Peggy
Whipple, Raleigh, N.C., Clyde and Janice
Whipple, Brackney, Pa.; 17 grandchildren, 25
great-grandchildren, 6 great-great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her grandchildren, Roy Allen, Ashleigh Willcutt, and
Gregory Whipple; son, Master Sgt. Glenn A.
Whipple [should be Allen]; sister, Florence Welch; and a
brother, Maynard Allen.
Services will be 11:00 a.m., Friday, October 22, 2004, at the Bartron-Myer
Funeral Home, Inc., a Selected Independent Funeral Home, 74 Church Street,
Montrose, Pa. The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 p.m. on Thursday,
October 21, 2004, at the funeral home.
