Jerome J. Wheeler, 70, Wellsboro native, died Saturday, March 30, 1957, at his home in Hollywood, Fla.

Born March 10, 1887, in Wellsboro, he was the son of Harry D. and Orva Dobbs Wheeler.

He was educated in the Wellsboro schools, in Philadelphia, and at State College.  He spent most of his life in educational work and at the time of his retirement was city superintendent of schools at Dunkirk, N.Y.  For the past seven years he has owned and maintained an apartment house at Hollywood.

Surviving are his wife, Hazel,; one son, Jerome of Los Angeles, Calif., two sisters, Mrs. Sibyl Kesting of York and Miss Florence Wheeler of Wellsboro, one brother, Harold Wheeler of Wellsboro, and four grandchildren.

Funeral services were held in Hollywood.
