Mary Jane Welker, resident of 107 South Mulberry Street, Dexter, was born August 6, 1890 in Wayne County, Il., and died March 1 in the Dexter Memorial Hospital.  She was 78 years, 6 months and two days old at the time of her death.  Her parents were A. C. Combs and Melissa Mayberry Combs.  She was a member of the First Baptist Church.

Surviving are one son, Vernon E. Welker, New Baden, Il; four daughters, Fern Conley, Bunker; Dorothy Hite, St. Louis; Kathryn Harris, Phoenix, Az; Lottie Joseph, Essex; 18 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held today, Tuesday, at 2 p.m. in the Rainey Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Marshall Dark and the Rev. Henry Jordan officiating.
