JORDANVILLE — Mrs. Margaret E. Vickerson passed away Friday, May 14, 2004, at
the Folts Home in Herkimer.
She was born Feb. 10, 1925, the daughter of Victor and Anna (Werner) Galusha.
She married Charles W. Vickerson on June 26, 1943, in East Springfield.
She and her family lived in the Van Hornesville area where she devoted herself
to her family. She enjoyed cooking and working on the family farm. In 1968, she
retired from farming and moved to East Springfield. She was employed as a bus
driver for the Springfield and Cherry Valley-Springfield Central school
districts until her retirement in 1992.
Survivors include three daughters and sons-in-law, Janet and Charles Demorest of
Springfield, Betty Fassett Ulrich and Al Ulrich of East Springfield, Diane and
Ronald Hubiak of Richfield Springs; one son and daughter-in-law, James and Erma
Vickerson of East Springfield; a good friend, Doug McCarty; 10 grandchildren,
Wayne, Carol and Charles Demorest Jr., James Jr., Jason Vickerson, Loretta
Vickerson VanDewerker, Dr. Daniel Fassett, Laurie Fassett McNerney, Michelle
Hubiak Hoag, and Chad Hubiak; 15 great grandchildren; two sisters, Helen
Robinson of Richfield Springs, Mildred Vair of Eaton and several nieces and
nephews.
She was predeceased by her husband, Charles W. Vickerson; two sisters, Frances
Beach, Beulah Bancroft; and two brothers, Robert and George Galusha.
Calling hours will be from 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday, May 18.
The funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, May 19, at the Ottman Funeral
Home, 22 Church St., Cherry Valley, with the Rev. with Rev. Lyman Johnson of the
United Methodist Church officiating.
Burial will follow in the Springfield Cemetery, East Springfield.
Contributions in Mrs. Vickerson's memory may be made to the Springfield First
Responders or a charity of the donor's choice.
Arrangements are entrusted to the Ottman Funeral Home, Cherry Valley.
