Dale LeRoy VanPelt, age 80, of Monclova, Ohio passed away Friday, July 31, 2009,
in Hospice of Northwest Ohio Perrysburg. He was born September 25, 1928, in
Toledo to LeRoy and Ivadelle (Cowell) VanPelt.
Dale served in the US Navy during WWII. He was employed by Doehler Jarvis for 35
years. Upon his retirement, Dale loved his cottage where he enjoyed fishing,
boating and Western Square Dancing. Dale was a talented wood carver who enjoyed
giving his carvings to family and friends. He carved with the Black Swamp
Carvers and the Sculptors Guild.
Dale is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Virginia VanPelt whom he married July 28, 1951; son, Ken (Regena) VanPelt; daughters, Dianne (Tim) Stroshine and Gail (Bill) Burgess; grandchildren, Myron (Staci), Mickey (Erica), Sean (Stacie), Ashley (Randy), Kimberly and Matthew; great-grand-children, Julie, Peyton, Landon and River; brother, Gary (DeJ) VanPelt and sisters, Jean Daly and Karron (Bob) DeHart. In addition to his parents, Dale was preceded in death by his sister, Doris Wendt.
Family and friends may visit Monday, August 3, 2009, from 2:00 p.m. until the time of the Funeral Service at 7:00 p.m. in the Maison-Dardenne-Walker Funeral Home, 501 Conant Street, Maumee, OH.
