Martha Evalyn Trout, 84, of Batavia passed away Thursday, October 12, 2012. She was born August 24, 1928 in Norris City, IL the daughter of Elvis and Lou Eva (Delap) Spence. She was united in marriage to Kenneth Trout October 24, 1947 in Hamilton County, IL.

Martha was born and raised on a farm outside of Norris City and valued her country upbringing. Martha had a grin and personality that would light up a room. She was loving and charitable and always found the best in those around her. She began her career at the Peoria State Hospital as the Business Administrator and continued her entire career with the State of Illinois running state schools. Following the closure of Peoria Hospital she moved to Batavia with her husband to work for the Illinois School for Boys and Girls in St. Charles and later for the Valley View School.

Martha and her husband both had a love for agriculture. Together they leased a farm on the Eastside of Batavia before purchasing a farm on the Westside of Batavia off McKee Street. Their farm is now the site of Trout Farms Subdivision; which Martha is proud to have had it named after her family.

Martha was a member of the Faith Baptist Church of Mill Creek.

She is survived by her daughter Brenda Boulos; two grandchildren MeDora and Steven Cash; great-grandchildren Jackson Thomure and Liam Cash, and a sister Peggy (Robert) Garrett.

She is preceded in death by her husband Kenneth and two brothers Lloyd Aud and Jerald D. Spence.

Visitation will be held from 5 until 8 p.m., October 17, 20912 at the Campbell Funeral Home in Norris City.  Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Thursday, October 18, 2012 at Campbell Funeral Home in Norris City.  Interment will be at Digby Cemetery in Dale.  Memorial contributions may be directed to the American Heart Association.
