Funeral services for Willard H. Toben, 48, who died Saturday in Columbus, O., after being stricken while en route to New Orleans, were held at 2 p.m. today at the residence, 105 Poultney, Whitehall, with Rev. David Martin officiating.  Interment was in Cedar Grove Cemetery, Fair Haven, Vt.

Mr. Toben, a lifelong resident of Whitehall, was accompanied by George Fagan and Fred Braw, also of Whitehall, when he was stricken.  The three were making a trip to witness the Mardi Gras.  Ohio officials said coronary thrombosis caused Mr. Toben's death.

An employee of the Delaware & Hudson for the last 32 years, Mr. Toben held the position of chief crew dispatcher.  He was a member of the First Baptist Church, Phoenix Lodge, F&AM, the Brotherhood of Railroad Clerks and the Fish and Game Club.

Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Evelyn LeMay; a grandson, Joseph LeMay Jr.; his parents, Mr. & Mrs. Fred Toben; and two brothers, Clayton and George Toben.
