Name:   Roscoe Conklin Thompson

Roscoe C. Thompson, 57, of 1748 North 48th Street, East St. Louis died at 8:25 a.m. Tuesday in the Christian Welfare hospital.  He had been ill with stomach trouble since July 24. 

Thompson had been a resident of this city for the past seven years, coming from McLeansboro, where, he was born May 2, 1876. 

He was a member of the McLeansboro Lodge of the I.O.O.P. 

He is survived by three daughters Mrs. Eva Poejoy, Mrs. Delia Aldrich and Mrs. Carie Kemper; four sons Virgil, William, Cecil and Alvin Thompson; and two sisters Mrs. Leona Kennedy and Mrs. Ora Mills. 

The funeral procession will leave the residence at AM Thursday and motor to McLeansboro for services.

Roscoe Conklin Thompson, born May 2, 1876 in Hamilton County, died August 8, in East St. Louis. 

He married Louella Robinson on January 21 1896.  She died in 1916.  Together, they had 8 children: Belva, who died in 1919; and 7 children that survive:: Virgil, William, Cecil, Alva, Mrs. Delia Aldrick, Mrs. Carrie Kemper all of E. St. Louis, & Mrs. Eva Popejoy of Kewanee.  He also leaves 2 sisters: Mrs. Leona Kennedy of Delhi, LA & Mrs. Ora Mills of Cropsey; 3 brothers: John L. & Elza Redmon Thompson of McLeansboro, & Charles Green Thompson of Cropsey. 

He was Interred at Mt. Pleasant.
