Mrs. Mabel Thompson, 97, Ex-Mayor's Widow, Dies

Mrs. Mabel Worth Thompson, 97, 2815 4th Ave. N., widow of a former Billings mayor, died at her home early Saturday morning.  Her husband, Harlan James Thompson, was mayor for one term beginning in 1909.

Mrs. Thompson was born Nov. 21, 1868 at Red Earth, Minn., the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Edwin Coffin.  She moved with her parents to Indianapolis, Ind. as a child and to Dillon in 1881.  She was married to Mr. Thompson at Dillon May 17, 1893.  They moved to Billings in 1901.  She has resided here since.

She was a member of St. Patrick's Parish.  Mr. Thompson died February 15, 1944.

Surviving are a son, Harlan Thompson of 2818 4th Ave. N. and a daughter, Mrs. Miriam Kelly of San Antonio, Texas.

Requiem mass will be celebrated at 9:30 a.m. Tuesday in St. Patrick's Church.  Burial will be in Mountview Cemetery.
