Edith M. Teale, 77, of Gladwin and formerly of Marlette, died Monday, Jan. 6, 1992, in Autumnwood of Deckerville. She was born on Aug. 15, 1914, in Muscatine, Iowa. She and her husband operated Teale's Café in Marlette from 1939 to 1969, when they retired in Gladwin. The former Edith Laube, she was married to George Teale on Nov. 14, 1939, in Marlette. He preceded her in death Dec. 22, 1980.

Surviving are one daughter, Mrs. Ronald (Elaine) Reil of Flint; one son, Douglas of Marlette; one sister, Elsie Kohl of Caro; and one grandson. She was preceded in death by a brother, Arthur on Dec. 28, 1991.

Rites will be held Thursday from the Marsh Funeral Chapel, Marlette, at 10 a.m. with the Rev. John Allan officiating. A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. at the Highland Cemetery in Gladwin. Memorials may be given to the Marlette District Library or the memorial of your choice.
