Franklin Bud Strickland, 72, of Bolivar, Mo., formerly of Greenville, Mo., died at Barnes Hospital in St. Louis, Mo., on April 13, 2013.
He was born the son of George and Verna Mae (Rose) Strickland on
April 7, 1941, in Greenville, Mo. Bud married Glenda Garrett in 1965, and to
this union, three children were born.
He worked as a local delivery truck driver for Delden Garage Door Company.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, James
Strickland and Robert Strickland; and two sisters, Odessa Yates and Barbara
Hodgins.
Bud is survived by two sons, Michael (Denise) Strickland of Bemidji, Minn., and
Marc (Kellie) Strickland of Suwanee, Ga.; one daughter, Michele (Brent) Ludwig
of Columbia, Ill.; three brothers, Rev. William (Iona) Strickland of Kettering,
Ohio, Roger Strickland of Poplar Bluff, and Donald (Debbie) Strickland of
Florissant, Mo.; four sisters, Mildred Newton, Kathryn (Earl) Davenport, Carole
(Wendall) Cohoon, and Sharon Whitener, all of St. Louis; six grandchildren,
Felicia Strickland, Zachary Strickland, Grant Ludwig, Gregory Ludwig, Meghan
Strickland, and Tanner Whitelaw.
A visitation was held on Saturday, April 20, at the Ruegg Funeral Home in Greenville. Funeral services followed. Burial was at Camp Eight Cemetery in Greenville. Rev. Don Strickland ministered to the family and Michael Strickland, Marc Strickland, Zachary Strickland, Tanner Whitelaw, Brent Ludwig, and Phil Kitchen served as pallbearers.
