Name:    Etna Ruby (Fuller) Smith

Thomasville – Mrs. Etna Fuller Smith, 70, of Rt. 3, Kennedy Rd., and wife of Wade W. Smith, was dead on arrival at City Memorial Hospital Wednesday at 7 p.m.  She had been in declining health for several years.

Mrs. Smith was born in Randolph County Oct. 3, 1899, a daughter of Albert W. and Hattie Kearns Fuller, and spent most of her life in Randolph County.  She was a member of Pleasant Hill United Methodist Church, a member of the Ladies Class of the church Sunday School and was a charter member of the Women’s Society of Christian Service. She had served as president and vice president of the Society.

On September 29, 1923, she was married to Mr. Smith, who survives of the home.  Surviving in addition of the husband are three daughters, Mrs. Wade (Louise) Myers of Rt. 3, Thomasville, Mrs. Smith (Evelyn) Craven of Rt. 9, Winston-Salem, and Mrs. Bob (JoAnn) Darden of Goldsboro; two sisters, Mrs. Paul R. Spencer of High Point and Mrs. Dwight D. Martin of Lexington; two brothers, Will Fuller of Rt. 1, Trinity and Penn W. Fuller of 1148 Randolph Rd., Thomasville; and seven grandchildren.

The funeral will be held Friday at 3 p.m. at Pleasant Hill United Methodist Church by the Rev. Joe E. Luther Jr. and the Rev. Raymond C. Craven,  Burial will be in Holly Hill Cemetery.  The body will remain at J. C. Green and Sons Funeral Home until placed in the church 20 minutes prior to the service.  The family will be at the home on Rt. 3, Thomasville, and at the funeral home tonight from 7 to 9.
