Mrs. LeRoy Smith Claimed By Death After Long Illness

Mrs. Edith Tupper Smith, wife of LeRoy Smith, passed away this morning at the family home, 536 Second Avenue, after an illness of several weeks duration.

She was born in Eldred, Pa., on February 25, 1882.  In June of 1904, she was married to Mr. Smith, the ceremony being performed by her grandfather, the Rev. Miles Tupper.  Since her marriage, with the exception of 13 years, she had lived in Olean.

Besides her husband, Mrs. Smith is survived by her father, Willis H. Tupper.

Deceased was a member of Trinity Methodist Episcopal Church and Tyler Chapter No. 87, Order of Eastern Star of Portville.

Funeral services will be held at the late home Saturday morning at eleven o'clock with the Rev. W. A. Stackhouse, pastor of Trinity M. E. Church, and the Rev. A. J. Bailey of Shinglehouse officiating.  Burial will be made in Pleasant Valley Cemetery.
