Mrs. LeRoy Smith Dies In Florida

Word has been received of the death of Mrs. LeRoy Smith, former resident of this city, Sunday (August 27, 1944) at Lakeland, Fla.  She had resided at 536 Second Avenue here.

Besides her husband she is survived by two sons, W. Paul Struble, A.U.S., stationed in the Pacific area; Robert Struble, Syracuse.

The body will arrive here early Friday morning and will be taken to the Halwig Funeral Home.  Funeral arrangements are incomplete.

Funeral services for Mrs. LeRoy Smith were held Friday afternoon (September 1, 1944) at three-thirty o'clock at the Halwig Funeral Home.

The Rev. Michael Salmen, pastor of the West Valley Evangelical Church, officiated, assisted by the Rev. W. R. Wilder, pastor of the Free Methodist Church.  Burial was in Pleasant Valley Cemetery.

Pallbearers were Wade Smith, Howard Smith, Forrest Smith, Alfred Doxey.

Those attending from out of town were Mr. and Mrs. Robert Struble, Syracuse; Mr. and Mrs. Fred Wheeler, Butler, Pa.; Mr. and Mrs. Edward McCoy, Mrs. Claude Burdick, Allegany.
