Farris Lee "Gus" Sliger, 69, of Pana, died
Thursday, May 18, 2006 at 9:44 p.m. in Pana Community Hospital.
He was born April 24, 1937 in Morehouse, MO, the son of Herbert Lee & Edna Marie
Farris Sliger. A graduate of Morehouse High School, he came to Pana, Illinois in
1972. He retired from Pana Township due to illness and enjoyed fishing and loved
his grandkids. Farris was a member of the Mt. Pleasant Church of God,
Assumption.
He married Dorothy Lou Reynolds and she preceded him in death on February 20,
1989.
He is survived by his children: James Sliger & wife Renee and Donna Lynn Smith &
husband Kevin; 4 grandchildren: Nathan Lee Smith, Abby Smith, Daniel Sliger and
Marissa Sliger, all of Pana; brothers: Fred Sliger in Missouri and Rev. Johnie
Sliger, South Haven, MS; and by his sister Rosemary Ford, Dexter, MO.
Visitation will be Monday, May 22, 2006 from 5 to 7:30 p.m. at McCracken-Dean
Funeral Home. Funeral services will immediately follow at 7:30 p.m. with Pastor
David Beerbower officiating. Graveside services will be Tuesday, May 23, 2006 in
Walker Cemetery, Bloomfield, Missouri at 1:00 p.m.
