GALETON -- Daniel Bernard Shine, 72, proprietor of the Waldorf Hotel, 62 West Street, died Friday, Sept. 9, 1949 at the Potter County Memorial Hospital, Coudersport.

Before he became associated with the hotel here, Mr. Shine had worked as a boiler maker for the Buffalo and Susquehanna railroad.  He was a charter member of the Galeton Knights of Columbus and the Boiler Makers' Union, and of St. Bible's Catholic Church.

Surviving are his wife Gertrude VanGorder Shine; two brothers, Dennis of Wellsville, N.Y.; John of Raritan, N.J.; two sisters, Mrs. Margaret Dean, Andover, N.Y., and Mrs. Mary Anderson, Wellsville.

Funeral services were held here and burial was made at Wellsville.
