Mrs. Lucy Schoonover died at the home of her son, Thomas Schoonover, at Beavers
Dam, R. D. 2, December 20. She was born in Portage May 9, 1832, and was 94
years, 7 month and 11 days old at the time of her death. She was married
to John W. Schoonover at Knoxville, Pa. when 22 years old. Mr. Schoonover
died 16 years ago. Mrs. Schoonover spent most of her life in Knoxville,
moving to Beavers Dam 10 years ago. She was a member of the Methodist
Episcopal church of Austinburg, Pa., he membership dating back for over 50
years. During her long life, Mrs. Schoonover made a large circle of friends, who
esteemed her highly.She is survived by three sons, Thomas Schoonover, at
whose home she died; Thaddeus Schoonover of Detroit, Mich.; and Gus Schoonover
of Knoxville, and several grandchildren.
