Mr. Darwin G. Ritter, aged about 73 years, died last Thursday of pneumonia, at
his home near Sabinville. Mr. Ritter is survived by his second wife, one
son, Mr. William Ritter of Westfield, one brother, Mr. Webb Ritter and one
sister, Mrs. William Bliss, both of Wellsboro, besides one half-brother, Mr.
Henry Stickley and one half-sister, Mrs. Daniel Wilson, both of Wellsboro. His
first wife, who was Miss Claretta Carpenter, died many years ago.
Mr. Ritter
served as a teamster for the government during the Civil War. He was a
member of the Presbyterian church for many years.
The remains were brought to Wellsboro Saturday for interment, Rev. F. P.
Simmons officiating.
