John M. Richardson, Oil Producer, Dies

John M. Richardson, well known local oil producer who resided on Riverside Drive, died suddenly Friday afternoon in Jones Memorial Hospital.

Mr. Richardson was born in Alma on Oct. 1, 1908, the son of the late Louis H and Mae Galutia Richardson.

He was married Nov. 10, 1928 to the former Ethel Sloan, who survives.  Other survivors include a son, Francis E. Richardson, a sister, Mrs. William (Irene) Coots and four grandchildren, John, Mark, James and Daniel Richardson, all of Wellsville.

Mr. Richardson was president of the Ebenezer Oil Company, a director of the First Trust Company of Allegany County, a director of Eban-Well Corporation, a member of the New York State Oil Producers Association, the Penn Grade Crude Oil Producers Association, and the Independent Oil Producers of America.  He also was associated with numerous other oil producing firms.

Friends may call Saturday 7 to 9 p.m. and Sunday 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the Mulholland-Crowell Funeral Home where services will be held Monday at 2 p.m. with the Rev. Paul J. Clark of the Christian Temple officiating.  Interment will be in Woodlawn Cemetery in Wellsville.
