Services for Johnnie Murl Reed, 79, Kansas City, Kan. will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the Armourdale Baptist Church.  Burial will be in Maple Hill Cemetery.  Friends may call from 6 to 9 p.m. Friday at the Simmons Funeral Home.

Mr. Reed died Wednesday, Oct. 21, 1992, at the home.  He was born in Carrollton, Mo. and had lived in the area 61 years.

He was a machine operator for Sealright Packaging Co. for 26 years and retired in 1974.  He was a member of the Paper Workers Union.  Mr. Reed was a Navy veteran of World War II.  He was a member of the Armourdale Baptist Church.

Survivors are his wife, Mrs. Opal E. Reed, of the home; three sons, Stephen M. Reed, White Cloud, Kans., Randy Reed, Grandview, Mo., and John R. Nicholas, Kansas City, Mo.; a daughter, Opal M. Estrada, Roeland Park; his step-mother, Nellie Reed, Holland, Mich.; a half-sister, Janearl Kretzschmar, Oroville, Calif.; 27 grandchildren and 29 great-grandchildren.
