Services Slated for Rainwaters

Funeral services for Mr. & Mrs. Grover C. Rainwater of Dalhart will be conducted Friday at 11 a.m. in the First Christian Church at Dalhart by the Rev. Glen Adams, of the Parkview Christian Church in Amarillo, and the Rev. Jack Clark, pastor of the First Christian Church at Dalhart.

Graveside Rites will be conducted Friday at 4 p.m. in Llano Cemetery at Amarillo.  Burial will be under the direction of Blackburn-Shaw Funeral Home in Amarillo.

Pallbearers for the graveside services will be Gale Pringle, Hugh Blanton, Frank Bentles, Lynn Attyd, Jack Venable, John Godell, Bob Scarlett and Doug Lewis.  All members of the Gold Sox baseball team will serve as honorary pallbearers.

Both Mr. and Mrs. Rainwater were ardent fans of the Gold Sox baseball team and were acquainted with the ball players.  The couple drove to Amarillo from Dalhart for most of the games played here each season.

The couple was killed Sunday night in a highway accident near Quanah.  Mr. Rainwater, 68, was an engineer for the Rock Island Railway for 29 years.  Mrs. Rainwater was 59 years of age.

Survivors include three sons and two daughters.  Mr. Rainwater leaves a brother and two sisters.  Mrs. Rainwater is survived by five sisters.

Pallbearers for the Dalhart services will be Jim Clinkenbeard, Gene Foster, J. C. Graham, H. C. Moore, Glenn White, E. W. Horton, E. O. Perkle, Wayne Gaines, W. B. Foltz, Joe Gollewt, O. C. Seago and C. C. Bearden.
