OBITUARY

& Mary (Hodges) Quenette

Harvey Quenette died Wednesday, December 12, 2001. His wife of 60 years,
Mary Quenette, died Thursday, December 13, 2001. They both died as a
result of injuries sustained during a natural gas explosion in their winter home
in Kingsville, TX.
Harvey was born in Simpson, Saskatchewan Canada in 1919, the third of five
children. Mary was born in Bedford, Indiana in 1922, the first of two
children. They met in 1940 and married a year later, beginning a 60 year
partnership that even death could not end.
Harvey was a minister with the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ). serving
many congregations in the Midwest and as administrator of a Christian retirement
center in Washington, PA, before retiring in 1981. They relocated
permanently to the Lenoir Retirement Community in Columbia, MO, in 1983 where
they set up base doing supply preaching in that area during the summers.
Winters were spent as winter Texans; residing in Kingsville, TX, and doing
interim ministries in communities around the state.
Survivors are son Chuck Quenette and wife Elena; son, Preston Quenette and wife
Rhonda; son, Larry Quenette and wife Carol; daughter Suzanne Quenette and
husband Keith Smith. They have eleven grandchildren and two
great-grandchildren.
Their lives were rich; full of the warmth of their family and their commitment
to the Christian community in which they lived and participated. We are
blessed to be a part of their lives; they will be sorely missed. Memorial
services will be held at Olivet Christian Church in Columbia, MO on Jan 5, 2002.
