Jerry D. Quenette, 52, Overland Park, Kan., passed away in Fargo, ND, after an eight year battle with cancer, on Monday, February 9, 2009.

Gerald (Jerry) Duane Quenette was born June 5, 1956, in Moorhead, Minn., to Robert and Deloris Quenette. Jerry grew up in Fargo and graduated from Fargo South High School in 1974, where he excelled in football and swimming. Jerry went on to attend North Dakota State School of Science then Moorhead State University where he graduated in 1979 with a B.S. in teaching/coaching high school athletics. Jerry taught and coached in LaMoure, ND, from 1979 to 1981.

On June 12, 1981, Jerry married Linda Ekern of Fargo. Jerry lived in numerous cities throughout his life including LaMoure, Omaha, Neb., San Diego, Calif., and for the past 22 years in Overland Park, where he worked as the Delivery Manager for Lowe's Home Improvement Center. Jerry's many hobbies included competitive racquetball (singles and doubles), golf, and was an avid fan of the Kansas City Chiefs Football Team.

Jerry is survived by his children, Patrick R. Quenette, Manhattan, Kan., and Laura L. Quenette, Lawrence, Kan.; his life- long friend Linda Quenette, Wentzville, Mo.; his dear friend, Ronda Severson, Fargo; parents, Deloris Quenette, Fargo, and Robert (Jan Stuverud) Quenette, Fargo; siblings, Terry Quenette, Ramona, Calif., Kerry (Sandy) Quenette, Rapid City, SD, Bobbi Lynn Huseby, Fargo. He was preceded in death by an uncle, Duane Quenette, and his grandmother, Ardella Belich.

There will be a memorial service at 2 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 14, in Atonement Lutheran Church, Fargo, with a visitation one hour prior to the service. Memorials may be sent to Hospice of the Red River Valley, Kansas City Hospice.
