Doris Louise Quenett, 87, of Genoa, Ill., died Monday, Aug. 8, 2011, in her
home.
She was born Oct. 7, 1923, in Sycamore, the daughter of
Victor and Alice (Lydig) Olson. Doris married LeRoy F. Quenett on Dec. 26, 1953,
at the Salem Lutheran Church in Sycamore. For most of her life, Doris was a
homemaker, though she spent a few years working with The Family Service Agency
helping the elderly. She adored her grandchildren and great-grandchildren and
also held a special place in her heart for animals.
Doris is survived by three children, David (Carol)
Quenett of Genoa, Nancy Decker of Rockford and Darlene Quenett of Genoa; seven
grandchildren, Crystal (Marc) Grismer of Genoa, James Kennedy of Rochelle, Julie
Kennedy of Washington, Derek Olson of Missouri, Alissa Quenett of Genoa, Steven
Quenett of Belvidere and Andrew Quenett of Genoa; three great-grandchildren,
Brookelynn, Madelynn and Ashlynn Grismer, all of Genoa; and three nephews.
She was predeceased by her parents; husband; and two
brothers, Robert and Kenneth Olson.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, Aug. 12,
2011, in the Olson Funeral & Cremation Services, Ltd., Cooper-Quiram Chapel, 202
E. Main St., Genoa, with the Rev. E. Timothy Frick officiating. Burial in Genoa
Township Cemetery. A visitation will be held one hour prior to the service in
the chapel.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to
