He founded the hotel magazine, The Steward, in 1908 and edited and published it until 1918 when he formed the Hotel Realty Company. On account of a serious asthmatic condition he retired in 1930 and moved to California.
A native of
Chicago, Mr. Pride spent his early life there. For a time he was managing
editor of The American Field. Later he covered the principal trap-shooting
events for The Sportsmanís Review, and then joined the staff of Field and Fancy,
another sporting publication.
