Harriet "Gram" (Anderson) Phelps of Rocky Hill, passed away Sunday, (July 11, 2004) at Hartford Hospital. She was predeceased by her beloved husband of 61 years, Walter J. Phelps. She was born in Dalton, MA, daughter of the late John and Martha Anderson. She later resided in Meriden, Bradenton, FL, and Wethersfield.

Harriet attended Smith College and worked for 25 years at Lane Construction in Meriden. She was a member of the Wethersfield United Methodist Church, Eastern Star, and the Wethersfield Senior Center. Her interests included playing cards, watching sports (loved the Red Sox), square dancing, and traveling. She especially treasured spending time with her family and friends, whose lives she touched dearly.

She is survived by her daughters, Barbara "Bunny" Plunkett and Patricia Neligon and her son-in-law, Ken Warner; her grandchildren and their spouses, Tari-Lynn and Jeffrey Joyce, Wendy and Thomas Dempsey, Thomas and Kimberly Fearney, Mindy and Scott Smith, Timothy and Aoi Fearney; great-grandchildren, Ben and Becky Joyce, Dani Marie Dempsey, Connor Fearney, Kaeden Smith, Michael and James Fearney. Also surviving is her brother, Charles Anderson and sister, Dorothy Potts. She was predeceased by sister, Florence Holcomb and brother, Buster Anderson.

The memorial service will be held on Saturday, July 17, 3 p.m. at Wethersfield United Methodist Church, 150 Prospect St., (Rt. 287) Wethersfield. The burial will be private.
