Eugene "Gene" Perry, son of the late Walter and
Viola Pruitt Perry, was born in Avert, Mo., on June 13, 1923, and died at his
home in Bloomfield, Mo., on March 15, 2011, at the age of 87.
Mr. Perry had lived in Bloomfield all of his
life. He had worked at Elders Manufacturing. He was a veteran of the U. S. Army
and was a member of the Amvets.
On Oct. 12, 1946, he was married to Mamie Darby
in Piggott, Ark.
Surviving are his wife, Mamie Perry of
Bloomfield; one son, Alan Perry of Bridgeton, Mo.; two grandchildren; one
great-grandchild; two sisters, Judy Giambelluca of Poplar Bluff, Mo.; and
Imogene Laughlin of Florissant, Mo. Other relatives and many friends also
survive. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Dallas and Delbert Perry; two
sisters, Ruthie Carter and Beatrice Carter.
Visitation was held on Thursday, March 17, 2011,
from 5-8 p.m. at the Chiles-Cooper Funeral Home in Bloomfield.
Funeral services were conducted on Friday,
March 18, 2011, at 1 p.m. in the Chiles-Cooper Funeral Home in Bloomfield with
the Rev. Kevin Eskew of Bloomfield officiating.
Interment took place in the Missouri Veterans
Cemetery in Bloomfield with Chiles-Cooper Funeral Home of Bloomfield in charge
of arrangements.
