James W. Patrick, son of the late Joe Thomas and Rhoda Evelyn Patrick, was born in Avert on Dec. 9, 1921, and died at his home in Bloomfield on Sept. 13, 2010, at the age of 88.

Mr. Patrick lived in Bloomfield most of his life. He was a wood worker at Rowe Furniture in Morehouse until 1987, when he retired as a supervisor. Mr. Patrick was also a member of Bloomfield Masonic Lodge #153.

On Aug. 18, 1945, he was married to Hazel Mae Johnson in Indianapolis, Ind.

Surviving are two sons, James Randall Patrick of Festus and Mickey Patrick of Bloomfield; three daughters, Linda Patrick of Bloomfield, Alice Patrick of Puxico, and Evelyn Green of Dexter; 10 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren, and one sister, Julia Moore of Cape Girardeau. Other relatives and friends also survive. He was preceded in death by one sister, Helen Leibman.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, Sept. 15, 2010, after 11 a.m. at the Chiles-Cooper Funeral Home in Bloomfield.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, Sept. 15, 2010, at 1 p.m. at the Chiles-Cooper Funeral Home in Bloomfield with Rev. Susan Hoyle of Bloomfield officiating.

Interment will be in the Walker Cemetery in Bloomfield with Chiles-Cooper Funeral Home in Bloomfield in charge of arrangements.
