Dempsey George Patrick, son of the late Eddie Franklin and Rosa Ethel Robey Patrick, was born at Clines Island on Jan. 8, 1924, and died at his home in Bloomfield on Thursday, April 15, 2004, at the age of 80.

Mr. Patrick worked for 32 years and five months for Southwestern Bell Telephone Company, retiring in 1983. He was a veteran of World War II serving in the U.S. Army and Air Force Reserves.

Mr. Patrick was united in marriage to Peggy Joyce Brown on March 15, 1958, and she survives of the home in Bloomfield.

Besides his wife, he is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, Eddie and Derretta Patrick of Bernie; two daughters and one son-in-law, Mark and Robin Hopkins of Dexter and Hollie Overstreet of Bloomfield; three grandchildren, Kara and Laura Hopkins of Dexter and Ashley Overstreet of Bloomfield; his mother-in-law, Mary Brown of Bloomfield; one niece, Claudette Copeland of Morehouse; and two nephews, Bill Reynolds and Rocky Copeland of Morehouse. Other relatives and many friends also survive.

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers and four sisters.

Visitation will be held from 5-8 p.m. Sunday, April 18, 2004, at the Chiles-Cooper Funeral Home in Bloomfield.

Funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Monday, April 19, 2004, at the Chiles-Cooper Funeral Home in Bloomfield with Rev. Bob Holland and Rev. Bill Adams officiating.

Interment will follow in the Missouri Veterans Cemetery at Bloomfield.
