Harriet Grace Parker of Longmont, formerly of Boulder, died of natural causes Thursday, Nov. 27, 2003, in Longmont. She was 82.

She was born Aug. 8, 1921, in Madison, Neb., to Vernon W. Copeland and Ruth Cleveland Copeland.  She married Cleo P. Parker on Aug. 31, 1941, in Madison. He died Feb. 17, 1988.

Mrs. Parker and her husband farmed at Madison from 1941 to 1953 and owned a cafe in Creighton, Neb., from 1953 to 1961. In 1961 they moved to Boulder, where they owned and operated Travelers Motel.  She worked at the University of Colorado Faculty Club from 1970 until retiring in 1975. She moved to Longmont in 1978.

She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Longmont. "She was a very devoted wife, mother and grandmother," the family said.

Survivors include a son, James M. Parker of Kirksville, Mo.; two daughters, Sharon K. Putz of Jackson, Wyo., and Dawn E. Mahan of Longmont; a sister, Ruth Rehkopf of Hemmit, Calif.; eight grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild.

She was preceded in death by two brothers, Ralph Copeland and Bernice Copeland; and a sister, Dorothy Hollifield.

Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at Lewellen Longmont Memorial Chapel, 503 Terry St., Longmont. A funeral service will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday at the First Baptist Church, 701 Kimbark St., Longmont, with the Rev. Gary Bowers officiating. Interment will be in Longmont Mountain View Cemetery.
