OBITUARY

Mrs. Grace Bridges Parker, 62, widow of Carroll Z. Parker, a one-time garage manager here and a member of one of Williamstown's oldest families, died this morning at her home, 61 Cherry street, after an extended illness.

She was born in Williamstown, daughter of the late Charles E. and Ida (Galusha) Bridges.  She had lived in North Adams for many years.  Her late husband at one time operated the Mohawk garage and Mrs. Parker herself was manager of the Parker Motor Sales company on River street after the sale of the Mohawk garage.  She also had been employed by the S. B. Dibble Lumber company, the Burlingame & Darby's company, the North Adams hospital and the Herbert A. Orr Co.

She leaves a sister, Mrs. Mabel B. Torrey and a brother Bernard Bridges, who made their home with her, and a brother Fred D. Bridges of Pittsfield; an aunt, Mrs. Jennie Galusha of Williamstown, and several cousins.

The body is at the Simmons funeral home, where calling hours will be from 7 to 9 o'clock this evening.  Funeral services will be held in the Simmons funeral home tomorrow evening at 8 o'clock, with burial in Forest Hill cemetery in Fitchburg.
