ELDRED, Pa. -- Ernest M. Ours, 59, of 28 Park Ave., died Thursday (May 10, 1983) in Eldred, after suffering an apparent heart attack.

Born Jan 22, 1924 in Horner, W. Va., he was a son of E Hugh M. and Iona Kidd Ours.  On Oct 21, 1947, in Eldred, he married the former Geraldine Grigsby, who survives.

Mr. Ours was a graduate of Buck Hannon (W.Va.) High School, class of 1942 and had been a resident of the Eldred area since 1946.

A veteran of World War II, having served with the Army in the European Theater of Operations.

He has been employed at the Ethan Allen Furniture Company, formerly Vico Furniture, since 1947.

Mr. Ours was a member of the Turtlepoint Evangelical Church; member and past commander of American Legion Post 887 of Eldred, where he was presently the steward and a member of its 40&8 Club.  He was past deputy commander of the Bi-County Legion; a member of VFW post 2092 of Eldred, and United States Steel Workers of America.

Surviving, besides his widow, are his mother of Richwood, W. Va.; a son, Ronald Ours of Eldred; two daughters, Mrs. Charles (Suzanne) Spiegel of Smethport; and Mrs. Jeffrey (Donna) Gross of Olean, N.Y.; eight grandchildren; three brothers, Jack Ours of Buck Hannon, Ralph Ours of Eldred, and Scott Ours of King, N.C.; three sisters, Mrs. Anna Sandy and Mrs. P. B. (Louise) Corder Jr. both of Buck Hannon, Mrs. Terry (Irene) Stemple of Tampa, Fla.; and several nieces and nephews.

Friends may call at the Frame Funeral Home, Eldred, today from 7 to 9 p.m. and Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.  Funeral services will be held Friday (May 13, 1983) at 2:30 p.m. in the Turtlepoint Evangelical Church.  The Rev. Alan Irwin, pastor, will officiate.  Burial will be in Lamphier Cemetery.

In Lieu of flowers, memorials, if desired, may be made to the Turtlepoint Evangelical Church or to the Eldred Ambulance Fund.
