OBITUARY

Name:    Rev. Allen Oscar Nuss

Rev. Allen Oscar Nuss, of 108 E. Jefferson, retired Methodist minister, passed away in Methodist hospital, Indianapolis, where last Thursday he submitted to an operation.  Mrs. Nuss, who accompanied him to the capital city a week ago was with him to the last. Death occurred this morning at one o'clock.

Decedent was born in Lehigh county, Pa. on Feb. 5th, 1861.  He received his early schooling in Pennsylvania and later followed in the footsteps of his father, Michael Nuss, who was an Evangelical minister, fitted himself for this profession as a Methodist minister.  He was ordained at the Wisconsin conference and held charges in Wisconsin, retiring while filling the pulpit at De Pere, Wisconsin, eight years ago.  Rev. Nuss and family came to Valparaiso about two years ago since which time he has made a host of friends, having filled the pulpit at the Methodist church during the absence of Rev. Biggs a few times as well as supplying at the Wanatah church.

Surviving are the widow, one son, Paul; two daughters, Carol and Dellora Nuss at home, four brothers and two sisters.  One sister, Mrs. A. Kerner of De Pere, is here at the present on a visit.

The body was brought here overland this afternoon and taken to the C. W. Bartholomew and Son chapel.  Definite funeral arrangements to be announced tomorrow.
