Name:   Mary (Davidson) Doherty Newcomer

Mary D. Newcomer, 72, 1109 Bollman St., a former Geneva resident, died at 6:55 p.m. Wednesday in Lutheran Hospital, Fort Wayne.

She was born on December 9, 1925 in Berne to Donald M. and Mary H. Martin Davidson.  She married John Doherty on February 19, 1943; he died on July 24, 1962. She married John Newcomer on August 4, 1978; he survives.

She worked at the CTS Corp. plant in Berne and the Corning Glass plant in Bluffton and was a member of the women's auxiliary of the Moose Lodge 1311 in Decatur.

Other survivors are a son, Michael D. Doherty, Geneva; four daughters, Mrs. Lester (Sandra) McIntyre and Mrs. Gene (Carol) Bodle, both of Decatur, Mrs. Clerel (Kay) Strausburg, Portland, and Mrs. Randy (Vickie) Brotherton, Bryant; 16 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.  A son, a daughter and a sister are deceased.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday in Downing Funeral Home, Geneva, with burial in West Lawn Cemetery, Geneva.  Visiting hours are 2-9 p.m. Friday and 10-11 a.m. Saturday.
