Alma C. (Lesley) Nelson, of Lebanon, died Wednesday, April 17, 2002 at Witham Memorial Hospital, Lebanon,  She was 93.

Born April 11, 1908, in Lafayette, she was the daughter of W. Curtis and Nellie (Blood) Lesley; they preceded her in death.  She married Robert H. Nelson on January 10, 1930 in Lafayette; he was a dentist for 50 years and died April 21, 1980.

She graduated Buck Creek High School in 1925.  She attended Purdue and Butler universities, and graduated Madame Blaker's Teaching College in Indianapolis.  She taught school in Tippecanoe and Boone counties for seven years.  She managed the family farms in Boone County for 50 years.

She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and homemaker who enjoyed her family, friends and playing bridge.

She was a member of the Lebanon Centenary United Methodist Church, the United Methodist Church ar Buck Creek in Tippecanoe County, Ulen Country Club, Psi Iota Xi Sorority (past president), Sigma Delta Pi teacher's sorority (past president), several bridge clubs and the Boone County Republican Women's Club.

Survivors include sons Robert L. Nelson and John L. Nelson, both of Lebanon; sister, Althear Park of Lafayette; seven grandchildren; three great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Son, David L. Nelson also preceded her in death.

Visitation will be from 10 to 11 a.m. Saturday at Powell Chapel in Oak Hill Cemetery in Lebanon.  Services will immediately follow, the Revs. Dennis Deeter and Dr. James F. Morin officiating. Burial will follow at Oak Hill.
