Mt. Vernon, June 3 -- (Special) -- Dawson T. Nation, 74, for 19 years employed in the maintenance division of the L & N railroad, died at 3:30 a.m. Tuesday at a nursing home in Evansville.

Mr. Nation suffered a stroke in January 1939, which made him an invalid.  He resided with his daughter, Mrs. E. K. Driscoll, in Mt. Vernon for almost a year and then entered the nursing home.

The body has been brought to the Shorts Funeral Home.

The funeral will be held at the Short Chapel at 10 o'clock Thursday morning with the Rev. George W. Hart, pastor of the General Baptist Church in charge.  The body will then be removed to Mt. Pleasant Cemetery near McLeansboro, Ill. for a continued service and burial.

Surviving are three daughters, Mrs. Driscoll, Mt. Vernon, Mrs. F. O. Marx and Mrs. E. A. Brown, Evansville; and a sister, Mrs. Jennie Snyder, Thackeray, Ill.
