LARNED - William D. Morgan, 83, died Oct. 4 at his home in Larned. He was born Dec. 25, 1917, in Tinewell, Ill., the son of Ottawa and Alberta Davis Morgan. He married Ailsa M. Hofmaster Dec. 30, 1946, in Great Bend.

A resident of Larned since 1981, coming from Great Bend, he worked as a feed truck driver. Morgan was a member of Pawnee Rock Methodist Church and life member of Veterans of Foreign Wars in Larned. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II.

Survivors include his wife of the home; three sons, David L. Morgan of Wichita, Verlin "Orley" Morgan of Larned and Gale Morgan of Rogers, Ark.; and six grandchildren.

Memorial graveside service will be at 2:30 p.m. Monday at Hillcrest Cemetery in Great Bend, with the Rev. Charles Grant officiating. Cremation has taken place. Friends may sign the register from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Saturday and Sunday and from 9 a.m. until noon Monday, all at Beckwith Mortuary Chapel in Larned. Memorials are suggested to American Heart Association, in care of the mortuary.
