BRADFORD, Pa. --  Thomas J. Moonan, 84, of 44 Fairview Road, died Saturday (Nov. 7, 1981) in Bradford Hospital.

Born Aug. 1, 1898 in New York City, he was a son of Joseph and Georgianna Johnston Moonan.  On Nov. 3, 1928, in Allegany, N.Y., he married the former Lorene Higgins, who survives.

Mr. Moonan had attended Bradford schools and had been employed for many years by Dresser Manufacturing, until his retirement in 1965.

He was a member of Derrick City United Methodist Church, a charter member of Derrick City Volunteer Fire Department, and the Foster Township Retired Men's Club.

Surviving besides his widow, are three sons, Charles Moonan and Robert Moonan, both of Bradford, and Raymond Moonan of Gifford; two daughters, Mrs. Jean Sutley and Mrs. Ardis Parkhurst, both of Bradford; 23 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren; a brother, Paul Moonan of Olean, N.Y.; four sisters, Mrs. Kate Williams of Olean, Mrs. Mary McKinney of Bradford, Mrs. Margaret Gould of Mesa, Ariz., and Mrs. Cecilia Ryder of Natrona Heights; and several nieces and nephews.

Friends will be received at the Cahill Funeral Home, 372 E. Main St., Bradford, today from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m., where funeral services will be held Tuesday (Nov. 10, 1981) at 2 p.m..  The Rev. Claude Groters, pastor of Derrick City United Methodist Church, will officiate.  Burial will be in McKean Memorial Park, Lafayette.

Memorials may be made to the Visiting Nurses Association or to a charity of the donor's choice.
